Bee Safe Community Description:

Thank you for your interest in making your community bee safe! In this context, a "community" is defined as a group made up of less than 75 households and can include rural areas, churches, schools, hospitals, universities, co-housing communities, HOAs, retirement communities, et cetera.

Bee Safe Community Pledge:

As bees are endangered by the use of neonicotinoids and other systemic pesticides in the environment, and since we are aware of these dangers, we pledge to help in the efforts to limit or eradicate these poisons by adhering to the level or levels of care described below, as per Bee Safe Boulder, Bee Safe Earth, and Living Systems Institute:

Level 3: Best! (Bee friendly): We will not use any poisonous chemicals outdoors and we will plant and raise plants that provide the pollen and nectar that bees and other pollinators need.

Level 2: Better (Organic): We will not use any poisonous chemicals or products outdoors.

Level 1: Good (Neonicotinoid free): We will not use neonicotinoids or other poisons that show up in the pollen and nectar of flowering plants and we will not use or buy soils, seeds, or plants that have been treated with neonicotinoids or other poisons that show up in the pollen and nectar of flowering plants.

If you are interested in making your community bee safe but are not ready to commit to one of the above levels, we still want you on board (and, by the way, THANK YOU)! Please fill out the form below and when you reach the "Pledge Level" dropdown, choose the "In-Progress" option. We will provide you with support and resources so you can work towards becoming bee safe.
